This is a very fine rendition of Henrik Ibsen's best work as playwright, and
of the most performed play of all time I am given to understand.
There is some great acting this time around, especially in this version by
Mr. Edward Fox, who attracts sympathy for his desperate position, his love for
Kristine, which forces the poor man to resort to blackmail in order to be able to
survive as he should, in being able to support the woman he loves, dear kristine,
played by Ms. Delphine Seyrig a woman of great beauty of spirit underneath in this version especially.
Both Mr. edward Fox and Ms. Delphine Seyrig were also in "The day of the jackal" (1973) (we recently posted for you here too)
Do not however miss out on the very best version of this movie, which is that of
the original Norwegian rendition (known to Norwegians as Et Dukkehjem 1973)
as it offers the best contrast between an angelic Nora (played by Lise Fjeldstad
versus the Witch like persona portrayal of Torvald's character by the actor involved).
We have it posted here in 720p version
