Hi folks, if you have the Windows 10 PRO operating system (pre-activated) we posted for you some go now,
please ensure you also have on hand the windows 10 activation utility program should you need to run
it if that pesky "Activate Windows" error message is to ever pop up on your computer yet again -
if so, just pause your Kaspersky etc virus software for a few minutes and run the Windows 10
activation program (its a tiny sized utility - only takes about a minute to do its thing) .
As for software updates, although these seem to continue to be provided with the Windows 10
operating system we posted for you, you may wish to disable it using the "Group policy" feature and the "services list" feature - many sites on the net show you how - heres one we picked at random
which worked: https://www.cleverfiles.com/howto/disable-update-windows-10.html
We also found a few people complaining on the net that their HP etc computer using the Intel i217LM
ethernet LAN card no longer working after the most recent windows update. That happened to us on one computer that hadn't been turned off as yet for windows updates and we restored the working driver files from an identical such computer of which we have a few around my office
right here. We often find driverscape.com t be a reliable and honest site to get free drivers
that may even be unavailable elsewhere, even in versions that aren't supposed to have been
offcially endorsed for a particular operating system version - and without being misled we find
thus far quite consistently. However their driver download didn't work for us to restore the
previous working driver as it seemed they too only had the latest version although they normally have all recent versions showing when displaying you options.
We finally found that running the latest installer program from Intel worked - provided we replaced
the driver files in the installer programs relevant directory with driver files from a working model of an HP PC that stored the previous working driver instead of newer version files that do not work
on ours or many other seeming PCs out there - who needs Windows updates considering this could happen to anyone too, eh!
The working driver files are in a separate folder included here - however you need to run
the installer program and it will fetch the driver files from the appropriate directories
into which we have the previous (working) driver file versions replacing the new versions
that did not work as I found out.
Thanks for sharing
