Part of the Pioneer Artists Concert Film Series, this is a memorable performance from the Godfather of Soul. Songs include "Sex Machine," "Get Up Offa That Thing," and many more.
James Brown is on top form and clearly enjoying every minute of being up there on stage. He has got his band so tight that they seem to be taking their cues from each shake of the head or wiggle of JB's backside. The title track features a great sax solo highlighting the fact that while there was never any doubt who was the Number One Soul Brother, James Brown always gave more space to his soloists than anyone else outside the world of jazz. Another highlight is a twenty minute version of 'Sex Machine' given the full spaced out funk treatment rather than the souped up pop version.
