Maria Muldaur is an American folk-blues singer who was part of the American folk music revival in the early 1960s. She recorded the 1974 hit song "Midnight at the Oasis," and continues to record albums in the folk traditions.
30 Years of Maria Muldaur - I'm a Woman is an excellent overview of the solo career of the eclectic singer. Following a stint with Cambridge folkie Jim Kweskin's jug band and a popular duo with then-husband Geoff Muldaur, Maria Muldaur hit the pop scene with 1973's masterfully slinky "Midnight at the Oasis," one of the great pop hits of the decade. However, the 18 other tracks here make plain Muldaur's incredible range, running from bawdy blues to delicate, traditional folk to jazzy torch songs.
