The Pussycat Dolls is an American pop girl group, and dance ensemble
founded by choreographer Robin Antin. The group originated in 1995 as
a burlesque troupe based in Los Angeles. After attracting the attention
of many high profile celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera
and Johnny Depp, Antin eventually negotiated a record deal with
Interscope Records in 2003, and the troupe was re-cast as a music
group, comprising lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton,
Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, and Carmit Bachar.
Subsequently the group also diversified into Reality TV programs, a Las
Vegas act and venue, merchandising and other ventures overseen by
Antin, Interscope and their partners.
'Bottle Pop' will be the fourth single to be released from the Pussycat
Dolls' second studio album 'Doll Domination' in North America and the
third single in Oceania. Whether or not it will be released in Europe is
still yet to be announced. The Dolls' next single was expected to be
'Takin' Over The World', but 'Bottle Pop' will be released instead. The
music video was directed by Thomas Kloss and shot in January 2009.
Unlike the album track version, Snoop Dogg does not make an
appearance in the video.
