Motion Patch: This 1080p encode uses my SVT-AV1 v1.7 motion patch. It improves motion quality at Mode 4 by disabling speedups and increasing the search range. Increased motion search range (Mode 3), No distance based hme resizing (Mode 2), No prune candidates (Mode 2) and No early exit (Mode 3). The result is impeccable motion quality. This patch is only supported at 1080p resolutions.
CDEF Patch: This 1080p encode uses my SVT-AV1 v1.7 CDEF patch. It reduces ring artifacts at Mode 4 by disabling speedups. Mode 2 CDEF quality is used to produce the smoothest possible edges during the video compression process. The number of CDEF threads is also increased by 50% for my i9-12900k. This allows content to be released at the same speed as default mode 4. This patch is only supported at 1080p resolutions.
Denoise Used: It was required to use a light amount of denoising to reduce film grain. There was too much noise (static fuzz) in the background. SVT-AV1 relies of synthetic film grain to prevent video artifacts (such as colour banding) during the encoding process. The built in denoise was used because it's more accurate than external alternatives such as NLMeans. The sources are up to 20 years old and were not filmed to today's standard. This is a nuclear option because it reduces fine details. However, in this specific instance it significantly increased the visual appeal of the film and allowed for the prevention of video artifacts during encoding. Level 15 film grain and denoise was required for Spider-Man 1 & 2. Spider-Man 3 only required Level 10 film grain and denoise. Spider-Man 3 has slightly more noticeable noise but a higher level of detail preservation. (Less radiation using the nuclear analogy)
Spider-Man Trilogy Encoder Notes: Total encoding time was just over 1 day on an i9-12900k. SVT-AV1 v1.7 Mode 4 was used with Mode 2 CDEF and motion quality. The bitrates of the video streams are 4.8Mbps, 6.1Mbps and 6.7Mbps in AV1. The reason for the reduced bitrates is denosing to increase visual appeal. The 20 year old sources could not be re-encoded in "AS-IS" format. Steps had to be taken to improve visual appeal. Over 86% of the file size is the video quality with approximately 4-5% each for English, French and Spanish OPUS 256kbps 5.1 audio. A good effort was put in to restore these films and release them in a file size that can be distributed.
Distribution note: This movie trilogy will be distributed in the SAME torrent with a 32MB piece size. Ensure to select a compatible torrent client. This will allow for rapid seeding with fewer resources. Enjoy the fast download speeds. Three 3 movies are included for the 18GB file size. Please note each IP Address is only allowed 1 connection to my seed box. I often seed multiple torrents. Simply keep the torrents running to be serviced one at a time. Avoidance of resource duplication greatly improves throughput.

UserHEVC screenshots are now JPEG tone mapped for rapid page loading speeds and more accurate video quality representation.
UserHEVC encodes AV1 movies. Razor high video quality. Reasonable file size.
UserHEVC recommends 32.4GB x264 or 24.3GB HEVC, to match 16.2GB video quality on AV1.

“I encode videos to solve a problem, not to create one.” - UserHEVC
I started encoding videos to strive to do better. My Computer Science background helps to make better choices. File size is a problem, which is why video codecs (such as AVC, HEVC and AV1) compress bits of information. The choices we make to configure video codecs, impact us more than we know.
Please seed, it's a respect thing:

It's recommended to seed for at least a 1:1 ratio or 24 hours. Otherwise, the uploader's work goes to waste. The torrent will not propagate as effectively and there will be less seeders retained long term. If you have a slow connection – it's fine. Staying on the torrent for 24 hours has a tremendous impact!
Still think the file size is too high? Here's an example of blocking artifacts.
4Mpbs or less x264 streams are terrible. 5Mbps on AV1 is 2.5 times better.
