Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity's lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.

In seguito a una terribile guerra nucleare globale la popolazione del pianeta Terra è stata sterminata. Sono passati 97 anni e ciò che rimane del genere umano è una stazione spaziale, l'Arca, che si trovava in orbita al momento del disastro.

Ma con l'aumento della popolazione, il deteriorarsi degli impianti di riciclo e l'imminente esaurimento di ossigeno, l'Arca non è più un posto sicuro. I rappresentanti del governo decidono così di inviare sulla Terra cento delinquenti, giovani ragazzi che intraprenderanno un viaggio molto pericoloso per constatare le condizioni del pianeta in modo tale che vi si possa tornare a vivere.

I 100 riescono ad arrivare sulla Terra ma scopriranno di non essere soli sul pianeta contrariamente a quanto credevano. Cercheranno in tutti i modi di restare vivi indagando sui segreti che la Terra nasconde e cercando di instaurare una pacifica convivenza in un luogo dove non esistono leggi ne autorità.

In questa terza stagione i sopravvissuti dei 100 inviati, dopo aver imparato in modo brutale che nella lotta per la sopravvivenza non esistono eroi e cattivi ma solo vivi e morti, sono tornati a casa. Riusciranno però i nostri sopravvissuti a trovare una pace interiore dopo quello che hanno fatto per sopravvivere e tornare a casa?
L’iniziale apparente pace nell’Arca è solo temporanea… le vite dei protagonisti stanno per cambiare per sempre: minacce vecchie e nuove li metteranno alla prova e inizieranno a comprendere cosa voglia dire essere veramente degli umani.

All’inizio hanno dovuto combattere per sopravvivere, poi hanno dovuto lottare per salvare i loro amici e ora devono combattere per la razza umana.

In questa stagione vedremo alcuni nuovi personaggi: un Arker carismatico di nome Pike (Michael Beach); un Grounder ribelle di nome Roan (Zach McGowan) misterioso e determinato; un giovane sopravvissuto dell’Arca interpretato da Shawn Mendes.

Summery:

100 years in the future Earth has been abandoned due to radioactivity. The last surviving humans live on an ark orbiting the planet - but the ark won't last forever. So the repressive regime picks 100 expendable juvenile delinquents to send down to Earth to see if the planet is still habitable. After all the fighting and loss, Clarke and her friends have reached the final battle. But is humanity worthy of something greater? Clarke and Octavia mount a desperate rescue mission as the Disciples close in on what they want. Clarke and her friends reckon with all that has happened only to find an unexpected threat looming.
