The Firm, gebaseerd op het gelijknamige boek van John Grisham. Dat boek werd in 1993 reeds verfilmd met Tom Cruise in de hoofdrol. Bijna 20 jaar later vormt het verhaal de basis voor een TV-serie met Josh Lucas in de hoofdrol.
De TV-serie springt 10 jaar verder in de tijd en we zien hoe het openbaar aanklager Mitchell McDeere verder vergaat. Aan de reeks werkte ook auteur John Grisham mee, die wel geïnteresseerd bleek om uit te vissen waar zijn personage een decennium later zou staat. Josh Lucas wilt met zijn rol vooral eer doen aan Tom Cruise en zal in de loop van reeks ook een aantal verwijzingen naar Tom's performance stoppen.
