With minimal information, The Gift embarks on a search to find his heroes.Beverley Cox's expatriate childhood in Kenya was overshadowed by her turbulent relationship with her father. The family's domestic help, Kak, stepped in to care for her, treating Beverly like his own daughter. Instead of looking after Kak in his retirement, as is often customary in Africa, Beverley's family left him with nothing. Desperate to apologise and right the wrongs of her family, Beverley has tried in vain to find Kak. With no guarantees that he is even still alive, Mel's only hope of finding Kak is to travel to Kenya and search on the ground.
