Jack White’s Third Man Records release the White Stripes’ complete Peel Sessions for the first time on Record Store Day, April 16th.
The White Stripes appeared on John Peel’s famed BBC radio show twice in 2001 — July and November — right after the release of their breakthrough third album, White Blood Cells.
The sessions, which have been widely bootlegged since their original broadcast, boast selections from White Blood Cells, the group’s self-titled debut and 2000’s De Stijl.
They also feature an assortment of covers including Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” Gene Vincent’s “Baby Blue” and the MC5’s “Looking at You.”
