Windows Phone 7, the new mobile operating system developed by Microsoft, is the successor to their Windows Mobile platform. Microsoft is calling it a complete “reboot” for their mobile strategy and claims that features will only be added when they reach a high enough quality implementation. To support the release of Windows Phone 7, Wiley is offering seven new titles covering the topic for every level of user.
Currently the first consumer book scheduled to release to the market is Windows Phone 7 Secrets (ISBN: 9780470886595; Oct. 25, 2010). Author Paul Thurrott worked directly with the Windows Phone 7 team at Microsoft and was one of just a handful of people given early access to the new operating system. His book will deliver insider tips, valuable insights, and unbeatable advice crucial to all those poised to adopt the exciting new feature-rich Windows Phone 7.
Additionally, Wiley will be publishing the first development book for Windows Phone 7. Professional Windows Phone 7 Application Development: Building Applications and Games Using Visual Studio, Silverlight, and XNA (ISBN: 9780470891667; Oct. 25, 2010), by Nick Randolph and Christopher Fairbairn, will show users how to develop for Windows Phone 7 to design, build, test and deploy mobile applications. Working examples throughout the book and on the web site cover how to design and lay out a Windows Phone 7 application, how to interact with the device and other services from your application and how to deploy and sell your applications.
